‘Das neugierige Licht’ is a collective of emerging light designers from Berlin.
As a satellite event for this year’s Berlin Design Week the group shows their creations and concepts with the material light. During the Design Week, a yet to be revealed backyard in the center of Kreuzberg will become an embassy of light and petri dish for living protons.⠀

The biggest force that has brought us together is the love of light, in all its shapes and forms. We are fueled by a common curiosity to experiment with and to push the boundaries of light. Collectively we seek to challenge the traditional norms by designing provocative and innovative lighting objects and spaces. Through our work, we want to invite people to think differently about light and to discover new ways of using it!
Das Neugiergie Licht is the curious light! As a group of young Berlin-based lighting designers, we share a common curiosity about light and the desire to experiment with it. We want to explore how far we can go with light, and the possibilities of light becoming a sculpture, a texture, a movement!
What we share as a group is this desire to experiment and discover. We will not be bound by what is possible today, but rather look to create a discussion, sharing our perspectives and ideas through objects and spaces. We want to trigger emotions and create discussions!
What is exciting is each of us brings our own perspective to this collective and together we will build something new and wonderful that is the best merge of our thoughts and vision.
